Sigal Tsabari: Hymn of Weeds

The 2012 Haim Shiff Prize For Figurative-Realist Art

Eldar Farber’s work offers an experience of an intensive, extended and concentrated observation. In his landscapes, he is faithful to reality but deliberately abstains from representation that is too pastoral or idyllic. Without nullifying the scenery he chooses, he “corrects,” erases and blurs it. Farber deconstructs landscape to its abstract elements and rebuilds it in a process of contemplation, research and experiment.

Sigal Tsabari, “nature’s poet,” focuses on painting through delving into nature. Using various techniques, she paints landscapes, horses and erotic self-portraits. With almost-scientific precision, she paints plants growing and wilting, intertwining images from her own world.
