Preparation before visiting the museum

Preparation before visiting the museum

Arrangements for a visit are made in writing, by phone, or by email. Arrangements can be made for a morning or afternoon visit at the Museum and at the Meyerhoff Art Education Center, depending on the subject matter. We recommend that the teaching staff schedule an introductory meeting with the educational staff at the Museum (see: Teacher’s Room Learners)

The class/group should be prepared in advance regarding proper behavior at the Museum:

1. Entry to the Museum is done in an orderly manner, following the instructions of the Museum guides. Bags and schoolbags should be left at school. Classes or groups that arrive with bags will hand them over for safekeeping in a locker in the cloakroom before entering.

2. Pupils/visitors are asked to assemble in the entrance lobby and await their guide quietly!

3. The guide will meet the group at the scheduled time and introduce herself.

4. The teacher/adults accompanying the group are requested to arrive at the Museum with the proper fees and to pay in advance before the group enters the Museum.

5. The teacher/adults accompanying the group are requested to remain with their group/class throughout the visit to the Museum.
