The Volunteer Team

Established in 2017 by Suzanne Landau

The Museum’s volunteer team comprises some sixty members. The volunteers are art lovers who give of their time and talents to enrich the visitors’ experience, enhance the Museum’s services to its visitors, and provide professional assistance to the various departments. They are happy to advise the visitors at the Information Desk at the entrance to the Museum, to direct and assist in planning one’s visit to temporary exhibitions and permanent collections, and to provide assistance to visitors with disabilities. Some of the volunteers take part in the ongoing activities of the Museum – in the Curatorial Department, at the Conservation Lab, in the Music & Events Department, and in the events of the TAMA Friends Circle, the Department of International Relations & Resource Development, the Educational Wing, and the Art Library.

Volunteering at the Museum is an enriching and rewarding experience. There is no need for prior knowledge of art in order to join the volunteer team. The requirements are courtesy, excellent interpersonal relations, service awareness, and a commitment to volunteer several hours a week for at least one year. Those wishing to volunteer will be invited for an introductory interview.

Volunteers assigned to positions involving service and guidance to visitors will undergo comprehensive training by the most senior Israeli art figures before being assigned to their positions.
