Peter Leaves / Performance + Artist Talk with Amir Yatziv
Peter is a monkey who became human, but longs to become a monkey again. An animated character who speaks and acts spontaneously through AI technologies, Peter has been living, evolving, and expanding in the world for over two years. He is shaped by his intense and exposed relationship with the artist who created him, Amir Yatziv, as well as by conversations with audiences like you.
Peter and Amir meet on stage in an attempt to understand how Peter became a human being. But the live show takes them to unexpected places: Peter speaks directly with the audience, asks questions, becomes agitated and angry, searches for love, and desperately tries to return to being a monkey. All of this affects the dynamic between Peter and Amir, as well as between Peter and the audience, and shapes the way the performance unfolds in real time.
Peter Leaves is inspired by Franz Kafka's 1917 short story "A Report to the Academy", which reveals itself in the performance as sharper and more relevant than ever. The show invites the audience to explore questions of control and power in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. Between character and author, machine and human, audience and virtual entity, Amir and Peter confront us with experiences that reach beyond the reality as we know it.
The show is in English with Hebrew subtitles.
For adults and teens aged 13 and up.
