Tikkun Leil Shavuot at the Museum / Alma Home for Hebrew Culture at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art and Alma Home for Hebrew Culture are pleased to invite the public to a Tikkun Leil Shavuot—an evening of study, conversation, encounter, and culture.

Tikkun Leil Shavuot is an ancient Kabbalistic tradition: a night devoted to learning and reflection. This year, marking the 30th anniversary of Alma’s annual Tikkun, it will be held at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.

God is among the most charged concepts in human culture, and especially within Jewish thought. Questions of divinity accompany us throughout life—in moments of faith and doubt, in the search for meaning, and in reflections on tradition, culture, and language.

Throughout the night, we will explore the divine as language and image, presence and absence. We will engage with faith and heresy, intimacy and distance, the God of the philosophers and the God of everyday life.

The program will conclude with a special late-night performance by Jimbo J.

The Tikkun will feature sessions led by Alma teachers, alongside curators and staff of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, as well as leading voices from the worlds of thought, culture, and art. This year’s program will place special emphasis on the Museum’s current exhibitions, with gallery encounters and guided tours.
