David Avidan: Media Prophet

From the David Avidan film
You Name It, 1969, 15 min

The exhibition follows the work process of poet and multi-disciplinary artist David Avidan (1934–1995), as expressed in his visual and vocal works, influenced by innovative media and technologies. Examination of his works reveals Avidan's obsession with image, text and optical illusion, variants of drawings, assemblage, films, recordings, futuristic machines and a departure from Earth towards outer space, to the point of making his kitchen into a futuristic laboratory.

The catalog is published with the support of Mifal HaPais Council for the Culture and Arts and the Yehoshua Rabinovich Tel Aviv Foundation for the Arts
