Dmitri Cherniak: Ringers in Motion

Special Project

Dmitri Cherniak (b. 1988, Canada) develops generative systems through algorithmic research, creating rule–based frameworks that govern the relationships between form, color, and movement.

In Ringers in Motion, the computer continuously recalculates, in real time and through elements of chance, a square composition of pegs, an enclosing line, and color. The result is a series of ever–changing compositions and animations that unfold within an infinite field of possibilities, constantly generating new variations.
