Talking to the Walls / Gal Fridman:

From <Gamers:Working_Title> (detail), 2012

The series “Talking to the Walls” presents video works by young artists dealing with language and territory. Gal Fridman’s work is the second in the series.

Immersion is the loss of sense of self in the real world and transporting it into the world of games. Over a year, Fridman documented the virtual world of a group of “gamers” who spend their lives in front of the computer screen, never leaving home. The film deals with the conflict between the virtual and the real worlds, with structuring language and an alternative private society.
