Zohar Gotesman: Dog Dish

Sculptor Zohar Gotesman presents a Carrara marble fountain featuring more than 40 hand-carved dogs, inspired by medieval gargoyles as well as contemporary accessory-style Chihuahuas. The fountain is surrounded by stone benches and myrtle bushes, mischievously alluding to an Italian piazza at the heart of the Museum. Gotesman deals with the tension between expensive materials and the destruction he wreaks on his sculptures with substances that stain and damage them.

The exhibition and the brochure were made possible thanks to the support of the Nata Dushnitsky-Kaplan Foundation; Outset; and the Israel National Lottery Council for the Arts
