Friedrich Adler: Ways and Byways

First exhibition in Israel of works by Friedrich Adler (Laupheim, 1878–Auschwitz, 1942), a member of the pre-Bauhaus Deutscher Werkbund (German  Craft Alliance), which believed in art's ability to  effect a change in society and in the religious  hegemony. The focus of the exhibition is a rare  stained-glass window, also featuring decorative and Judaica  works which reflect the innovativeness of early Modern  industrial design.

Exhibition and catalogue sponsored by The David Berg Foundation, New York; Federal Republic of Germany, Foreign Office; Ernst von Siemens Kunststiftung, Munich; with the assistance of the artist's daughter Rina Alexander Lior and her family, Neot Mordechai; and with thanks to Raya Strauss Ben-Dror
