Rami Maymon: Further Reading

Rami Maymon (b. 1976), first recipient of the award, investigates representations and their conventions in culture and art. His work is an original, delicate integration of photographic images and complex material installations, exploring the medium of photography, the photograph and their changing status over the years. The series "Further Reading" is a photographic archive of sorts, formed since 2007 in a process that doubts the photographic source and subverts the medium's documentary/testimonial authority.
